In the "buying to melt" table, seems to me the base values are off. According to the table, scimitar and mace are both 10 base value, while what I get is 14 and 17, respectively. Also, if an iron anvil does indeed give a whole bar back, then they're not relative value of 100, they're an absolute steal at 10 (i.e. someone forgot that the value of an iron anvil is 10 base * 10 material (iron), not 100 base value), and as good a value as cages.

It turns out '''everything on this page was wrong''' - item melting yields have '''never''' followed MATERIAL_SIZE, at least until version 0.34.11. Base values wrong[edit]

If you're importing anvils, you can turn a massive profit through resale, when your master blacksmith produces high-quality furniture. The only problem is with their weight; you might be better importing lots of lightweight crafts and improving them for resale instead.

Why metalsmith must melt buckets?[edit]

Why "recommended item" for metalsmith training is a bucket with 50% metal return, when blacksmith can forge various furniture from 1 bar of any metal, he can forge cabinets for example, and then get back 1 bar for melting? I know this is a bug and furniture must consume 3 metal bars, but today we have 1 bar in and 1 bar out, 100% return.

I just noticed the same thing, will edit appropriately. --24.19.208.103 20:47, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Everything is Wrong[edit]

It turns out everything on this page was wrong - item melting yields have never followed MATERIAL_SIZE, at least until version 0.34.11. Every single melting yield claimed on this page seems to date back to an article related to version 0.23.130.23a which was totally incorrect. --Quietust 04:47, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
