Redirect change?[edit]
Basically, i was thinking this could be changed to a redirect towards the v0.31:Soldier page. You see, both 40d, and v0.31 has mention of heroes on both pages, however, 40d is the only one as a redirect to it's soldier page. Considering everything else, it would have more information if Champion would be redirected to it's corresponding page, however, with all the people who worked on this page, i'd rather post a discussion before something like this were to occur. Would any of you agree with this change? --Hugna 19:57, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- The thing is, in this version, a champion is not the same as just a skilled soldier. It is now a noble position, so it would probably not be appropriate to make this a redirect to soldier --Briess 20:05, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- I assumed it was still a position that makes them useless for civilian duties and nothing more at this point. Thanks for the answer. --Hugna 20:12, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- All good. From what I've been able to gather, this noble position does military training of sorts-beyond that I am not sure. --Briess 20:35, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

Pillar of society[edit]
From the early v0.31 modding and some of Toady's comments when he created the position, I believe that the champion functions as the trigger for the "pillar of society" thoughts found in the string dump. As such, and from his raws, function should change to building morale or pillar of society if true. I'll try to test that soonishly, but if someone has the information already, all the better.
