If you stud an object with the metal it is made out of, then it is not really studded, or decorated, it's just a part of the item. I have removed the 'for obvious reasons' part of the sentence 'You cannot stud a metal object with the type of metal it is made out of, for obvious reasons.' because whatever the reasons are they are not obvious to me. If anyone wishes to replace the obvious reasons part please explain here what the reasons are and why they are obvious. I will then smack my head and say, "Oh it makes sense now. It was so obvious, I don't know how I didn't see it before!" and then thank you. LightBearer 02:05, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Decorations possible on clothing[edit]
Yes, all types of decorations are possible:
"This is a pig tail fiber robe. It is encircled with bands of fine pewter and well-crafted nautilus shell. It is made from pig tail fiber cloth. On the item is a well-designed image of gauntlets in prase by Athel Nishotil."
fine pewter - metal studding
nautilus shell - decorate with shell (analogous to decorations with bone, tooth and horn)
prase - encrusted with gems
Those are all three types of decorations that were marked with "N" for clothes previously.
I haven't checked if weapons can be decorated with bone - they _probably_ can, since bone bolts and bone armour regularly get decorated with leftover bone if i allow it. The only really restricted decoration types are embroidery (sew image) - only possible on cloth and leather items - and gem encrustation - restricted to the categories furniture, finished goods and ammunition. Bone/horn/etc. decorations and metal studding seem to be able to use just about any finished non-food item.
Oh, and ropes aren't furniture, they're filed under "finished goods".
