I don't know if anybody else feels the same.  The link format may be good if a guy's got a specific problem, but for newbie orientation, I think a single page with all questions and answers, and a list of question links at the top that jumps to the answer could work better (just put each question as a subsection).  Also, I think this faq should be publicized more that the forums.  Best if there's a way to put a sticky there that points here.  juz my 2 coppers.  -- Sphr 21:09, 3 January 2008 (EST)

:ok after looking at more stuff I realised that some pages are too big to fit in as answers to a question in a list of questions on one page.  So I guess my earlier suggestion is not feasible.  Still, maybe we can consider a "Quick Faq" which is a less detail on paragraph answer that potentially links to the detailed answers.  That way, for one-liner answers, we don't have to create a special page for it and for detail answers, we can keep the current FAQ system.  This could provide a better balance.  -- Sphr 21:18, 3 January 2008 (EST)

If someone has spare time could you please answer the one about needing non-economic stone? I don't really understand this and need a solution as to how to allow the building to craft a throne, table, coffin etc. out of "Economic stone".

While I was revemping the style I added all the FAQ templates to the Template category. If someone knows how to put them in their own subcategory, and do that, it'd be appreciated. --Juckto 21:08, 31 July 2008 (EDT)

I hope you like the overhaul Juckto 21:10, 26 November 2007 (EST)

Is there any way to make the link so it uses the current domain rather than hardcoding to dwarf.lendemaindeveille.com, as most of the links I've come across to get here are www.dwarffortresswiki.net ones and any login status is not saved across the different domains. --Shades 07:26, 27 November 2007 (EST)
It'll take some switching ... but i'm fixing those links with a template. --Vae 10:47, 27 November 2007 (EST)

I suggest deleting the magma FAQ. The page we have on magma is of reasonable length, and covers all relevant information. Bouchart 20:41, 3 December 2007 (EST)

hmmm. Well I changed it to link to the magma page, but I'd like to leave the FAQ in existence so that people can add questions that aren't covered by the magma page. Juckto 18:35, 4 December 2007 (EST)

After another month, it seems clear that magma is not a broad enough category to warrant its own FAQ section. I encourage someone to reorganize the FAQ sections, and if no one else does I eventually will. Sphr's comments below are well worth considering. Fedor 08:23, 18 January 2008 (EST)

FAQ Namespace[edit]

I like the format for the FAQ pages with the templates, even if they are a bit multi-coloured. However, might it be better to have a separate FAQ namespace, e.g. FAQ:How do I get my dwarves to do stuff? ... I just don't think pages like should exist in the default namespace. --Markavian 09:13, 18 December 2007 (EST)

one-page faq[edit]

I don't know if anybody else feels the same. The link format may be good if a guy's got a specific problem, but for newbie orientation, I think a single page with all questions and answers, and a list of question links at the top that jumps to the answer could work better (just put each question as a subsection). Also, I think this faq should be publicized more that the forums. Best if there's a way to put a sticky there that points here. juz my 2 coppers. -- Sphr 21:09, 3 January 2008 (EST)

Error Messages[edit]

If someone has spare time could you please answer the one about needing non-economic stone? I don't really understand this and need a solution as to how to allow the building to craft a throne, table, coffin etc. out of "Economic stone".

Template categories[edit]

While I was revemping the style I added all the FAQ templates to the Template category. If someone knows how to put them in their own subcategory, and do that, it'd be appreciated. --Juckto 21:08, 31 July 2008 (EDT)
