1st Granite 1056
So... Girdertrampled. I don't know what I was expecting exactly, but this certainly wasn't it. When I was told the story of Girdertrampled, I was told of a bustling, successful town. I found the town, but the people...
Oh, there they are. Dozens dead, and none of the survivors seem to care. When I talked to someone about the rest of the town they mentioned something about a nice waterfall. These dwarves are crazy...
The Baroness Consort Zefon, forbid me from exporting any and all toy hammers. I told her that if she wanted some so badly, she could just make some herself. She didn't take that to kindly.
There are 18 dwarves left. This is a decent number to get things going again, or rather it would be if I had some workers. Almost half of the population is either administration or children. Not good.
5th Granite 1056
I have ordered the completion of the half moat that was attached to the creek. I don't know who started it, or why, anyone could just walk around it. Oh well...
Moat:
12th Slate, Mid-Spring 1056
I finally convinced someone to go and meet with the elves that had showed up about a month ago. I let them sit around, for this whole time thinking that we were going to get them some things to trade. I just took all of their stuff of course, but who cares? They're just elves. They left immediately.
15th Slate, Mid Spring 1056
A wave of immigrants has arrived, along with a Baron and a Dungeon Master. I would almost feel excited, if I had any trapped animals that could be trained, I would be ecstatic. As it is, I don't even have the mechanisms to make all of the stone fall traps that I want, let alone the resources for any useful number of cage traps. I hope he'll pull his weight.
I've checked the logs, so far only three dwarves have arrived and they are all nobles. I'm sure that they will be useful...
18th of Slate 1056
More death. One of the injured miners, and I assume one of the last survivors of whatever hit here before I showed up, has died of thirst. Apparently, no one though that they needed to bring water to a bed ridden dwarf. I'm sure they love their waterfall though. They just had a party near it.
22nd of Slate 1056
Well'p that's it then. I may as well pack up and run now. A Bronze Collosus has come. We have no chance to survive...
Bronze Colossus
I ordered all dwarves to stay inside, there are quite a few traps around most of the entrances to the fortress. The captain of the guard decided that he didn't need to listen to me and attacked the colossus single-handedly... while outside. He died.
A cat has been distracting the colossus for quite a while. I wish I knew what to do with the given time.
28th of Slate 1056
Oh dear. After smashing down the trade depot, the bronze colossus went into one of the more heavily trapped areas. Many rocks fell on his head. He is unfazed.
He has breached the fortress, may Armok have mercy on our souls.
He's killed the guard dogs, it is time for us to take up arms. Everyone has been recruited. We are going to kill the beast.
Another guard killed. I have let the dwarves go outside. There is no use sealing us in here with that thing.
He just knocked the mayor across the room. Two more dwarves dead.
There is hope. We have surrounded it, and even hurt two of it's fingers.
5th Felsite 1056
It is good to see that the nobility have got their priorities straight. We are fighting for our lives against impossible odds, meanwhile the nobles are dutifully restricting
exports, on coins no less. I hope the Colossus takes a long time to eat Id Lalgeshud. Armok deliver me from these imbeciles.
6th Felsite 1056
It got her. Thank goodness. I didn't want to have to make her a room anyways.
8th Felsite 1056
Good old Zefon must not have liked Id much more than I did, just days after her death a party has been thrown. I bet everyone will have a great time... Especially the Colossus.
11th Felsite 1056
After the Bronze Colossus chased Id into a bed room and killed her, I forbid passage of the door that the Colossus would have to go through to get out likewise I made it forbidden to pets and internal. The Colossus has not moved since. I guess the Colossus wouldn't want to break any rules to kill us all? I'm not going to complain. I'll set up a prison above it and have the floor be retractable. Those who displease me will be sent to their deaths. Provided the Colossus stays agreeable and everyone doesn't die of their wounds...
27 Felsite 1056
I searched everywhere for a dwarf, any dwarf that was not either knocking on death's door, or a noble. There is one. Good old Lokum Zansongnish. He was a fortress guard. He didn't like being demoted, but I needed someone to do some actual work. I am contemplating having him dig out one small defensible hole in which he can sustain himself for a long time. I may get around to it, but there is still a chance of survival.
5th Hematite
One of the children has gone mad. This is acceptable to me.
18th Hematite 1056
My only worker has been elected mayor. I hope it doesn't go to his head. It should cheer him up at least.
2nd Malachite 1056
The tax collector just decided that going through the forbidden door to go to his bedroom would be a good idea. The Colossus killed him. He was throwing tantrums a lot anyways. I can't make myself care. Current population seven. Three of whom are nobles, and two are children. I don't think that Girdertrampled will survive another year.
5th Malachite 1056
What ever the tax collector did woke up the Colossus. He has broken free and has killed the mayor who happened to be the last worker. We are doomed.
10th Malachite 1056
I'm leaving before I get killed by the Colossus myself. He has killed almost everyone, and is now enjoying himself slaughtering the cats that are all over the place.
I am sorry, I have failed you all...
