According to the Forum, "Hammerdwarf" is the military skill which dictates how efficient a pick wielding Miner will fight once drafted.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Samyotix (talk•contribs)
- Forum is wrong then. --Ikkonoishi 11:28, 17 February 2008 (EST)
- There's no such thing as 'according to the forum.' It's 'according to X' where X is a user or group of users on the forum.

Sorry about lack of a signature-thingy with my name. I never figured out how to do that on wikis. Oh well, onto my point:
It seems to me that dwarven mining behavior is also based on what task they are asked to do. I've given dwarves large mining projects, and then (while the project is being worked on) I assign a dig channel job. They will stop the main job and go do the channel first. Long story short, this is what I think mining priorities are:
1. Dig Channel.
2. Mine.
3. Remove upward stairs/ramps.
I don't know how any others work into that. If someone could confirm or deny, that would be great -- Waladil
