"Spores" is an informal player term not found in the game, but often used on the forums. It can refer to one of two things:
- Spores from underground rivers (or caverns) that allow underground shrubs and trees to grow in muddy areas.
- The ability of DF dwarves and creatures in previous versions to "breed by spores".
