Crutches are used by {{l|dwarf|dwarves}} to move around with broken or missing legs.  They're made out of one {{l|wood}} log at the {{l|carpenter's workshop}} or one metal bar at a forge. In adventure mode crutches can be used to walk when one or both legs are disabled. If an uninjured adventurer carries a crutch in their hand the movement penalty of using a crutch will be applied. The movement penalty cannot be gotten rid of, even by dropping the crutch. This may be a bug.

This article is about an older version of DF.

Crutches are used by Template:L to move around with broken or missing legs. They're made out of one Template:L log at the Template:L or one metal bar at a forge. In adventure mode crutches can be used to walk when one or both legs are disabled. If an uninjured adventurer carries a crutch in their hand the movement penalty of using a crutch will be applied. The crutches still work when they are in containers, and they still work even if you drop them from containers. You have to drop them from hands to stop crutchwalking.
