The command line is used for Template:L quickly from the Command Prompt in Windows. Use of this in Linux or Mac OSX based operating system is not yet confirmed.
Options
Dwarf Fortress currently offers only one command line option, a world generator.
World Generator
Usage of the -gen parameter allows generating worlds quickly and automatically using batch scripts, by opening a silent and introless dwarf fortress. If a region that already exists is given for the id number, the program will abort. The usage as documented by the game is as follows:
FORMAT: "Dwarf Fortress.exe" -gen <id number> <seed> <world gen param title> EXAMPLE: "Dwarf Fortress.exe" -gen 1 3498 STANDARD EXAMPLE: "Dwarf Fortress.exe" -gen 2 RANDOM CUSTOM6
