Perhaps you're misunderstanding the purpose of the "Available" designation from the Animals menu - it is not for training, but for adoption. Unavailable dogs can be trained without problems, provided they are not in cages or chained up. --Quietust 22:34, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

There are three states a animal can be in, available, unavailable, and someone's pet. You CANNOT train a animal when it is in the unavailable state, it MUST be set to available.
