Cassiterite is an ore that can be smelted directly into tin (only source), or combined to create bronze, trifle pewter and fine pewter. In the world of Dwarf Fortress cassiterite is found in layers of soil as small clusters and in layers of granite as veins.
Smelting
Cassisterite is needed to make several types of metal bars at a smelter:
- Tin bars
- Bronze bars - with copper nuggets, malachite, or tetrahedrite
- Trifle pewter bars - with copper nuggets, malachite or tetrahedrite (takes 2 cassiterite)
- Fine pewter bars - with copper nuggets, malachite or tetrahedrite (takes 3 cassiterite)
