DF2014 Talk:Visitor
request for Sanctuary
I recently got an elf that petitioned for sanctuary. I never really cared for petitions, so I'm not entirely sure if that's something new or not, so I'm going to record anything interesting happening here before doing changes to the main article. I can already changer it's occupation, but not set any jobs to this elf. --UrisMcSid (talk) 18:10, 26 November 2017 (UTC) the elf is doing hauling jobs and is giving water to injured dwarves--UrisMcSid (talk) 19:12, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
- There are new types of visitors in the newest version(44.x), it looks like refugees can be one of them. In older versions the only visitors that would petition to stay were scholars, soldiers, and performers. Does the visitor have a title corresponding to what they are(like "refugee")? Monster Slayer as normal immigrant
I had a Monster Slayer arrive as a normal immigrant, a Competent Hammerdwarf. I immediately drafted her into the military with no problems. Bug? 88.153.7.235 22:59, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
Goblin Bard
Is this normal? Can't seem to find anything about it on the wiki.

- Yes, most sapient species can be a member of a civilization, provided certain conditions are met. That goblin was either absorbed into human/dwarven/elven society after his own civ lost a war or was already born in it. Alternatively, that goblin may be a secret agent, who are already mentioned in the article. OluapPlayer (talk) 15:12, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
And Hamster Men? Are they in the club, too? --DJ Devil (talk) 02:18, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. The animal people page has a full list of what beast-races can be in civs (and can become visitors). Plump helmet man scholars are a well known oddity. OluapPlayer (talk) 12:24, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
dead visitors
came looking for answers.
do dead visitors go into coffins? the options are for "allow citizens" and "allow pets".
It is unclear from the UI if Allow Burial: Y will permit non citizen.
If a visitor dies, particularly in a throughfare, should their body be dumped, or will setting some form of facility up lead to an appropriate interrment?

- I just got few insane merchant visitors, I don't even know why they came because it says they have to talk to locals first but they don't talk, just running around naked. One of them just died of starvation or dehydration, and his body is just laying there. No one bring him to coffins, which I have allowed for citizens and pets. I don't even see a job for it available. They just walk by and get negative thoughts. Maybe, I have to wait for longer, but it seems like they are not going to do anything with that body.

What are those "returned friendly visitors"?
I got an announcement "Snodub Ngostôzsmunstu, Goblin Poet and others have returned." in green color. When I zoom to it, it shows me this goblin on the edge of the map. She does nothing, just stand here. Now, after 18 in-game days, she is still there, along with a bunch of other poets, elf woodcrafter and a weaponsmith. They appeared without any announcement. They all just stand there, doing nothing. If I view them, I can't see their skills. They all have nothing in their inventory except few books and an artifact maul. One of them have "Creator of " in the general tab. Without the name of artifact. Also, saw many visitors without reasons, like "This visitor has come .", missing their reason to come, but that's not the topic. On units list all these "returned" units show up in "Others" tab with caption "Friendly". What is this? 188.170.175.195 16:33, 16 March 2021 (UTC)
