Farmer is a profession used for the production and use of Template:L, Template:L, and Template:L. A dwarf whose highest skill is in this category is known as a Farmer.
Confusingly, the skill associated with the Template:L Template:L is actually Template:L.

Professions are categories of skills. A dwarf's best non-military skill determines what profession that dwarf will belong to (if not Activated for the military).
Dwarf Fortress uses "profession" to indicate the dwarf's specific skill specialty, but for the purposes of the DF Wiki it is used to indicate the supercategory that specialized skills belong to.
