Granite is an igneous intrusive stone that can contain a large variety of gems and ores, as well as many kinds of stone clusters. Granite can form layers. Unfortunately, granite isn't magma safe.
"Granite" is the name of the first month of the dwarven calendar, covering early Spring.
In real life
Granite is one of the most common stones on Earth, as the base of all the continental crust is made of it. Granite can sometimes be found in outcrops where the rocks above the granite have eroded away.
