Has anything been said about this mineral being processed/milled into a foodstuff? After all, sodium chloride has long been used for seasoning. On that note, oceanic fortresses might benefit from an option to boil off seawater into seasoning salt at the Kitchen. Yum. --Alfador 13:37, 16 November 2007 (EST)

Also, why is it possible to pump water through rock salt without dissolving any? My indoor well is over a resevoir of water in a rock-salt basin, which would presumably make it so salinated as to be worthless. No effect in game though. --Dadamh 16:57, 30 May 2008 (EDT)
Find me dwarven poop and I shall answer your question. --Savok 18:15, 30 May 2008 (EDT)
Well, have you ever wondered why the seeds left over from eating plants are left on the chair instead of the table? --Dadamh 17:38, 1 June 2008 (EDT)
Dwarves sweep them off the table when done.

I would like salt, at least as a trade good. - --Zipdog 01:12, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh yes, things like +Salt roast+ ("made from grinded salt, grinded salt, grinded salt and finely grinded salt") would count as poison. Ah, my dreams... --Haspen 21:44, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Weight?[edit]

I'm living in a fortress whose main stone is rock salt, with a few other things. My main export is mechanisms, since I'm working on draining the ocean to make a fortress in it. Anyway, rock salt mechanisms are apparently lighter (but same value) as sandstone ones. Any comments?--Waladil 07:09, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
