This article is about an older version of DF.

Bone meal is an object found in glowing pits. It is also listed under stockpile options for food. It cannot be used for any purpose whatsoever, and is, for now, just for atmosphere. Any bone meal present in the pit will disappear during the next season change.

It can be modded in as [POWDER_MISC:NONE:BONE:(CREATURE)].

In reality, bone meal is made by grinding animal bones into a powder and is used as a fertilizer for plants and as a nutritional supplement for animals.
