So, in the new version(44.01-02) titans seem to be invading much more frequently and earlier than usual. I've noticed that they don't seem to path into my fort on their own though. They will kill anything that comes near them, but they will generally just stand around for months in one location and not bother anything if left alone. In the past, I remember titans like most other beasts would almost immediately path to the nearest living member of my fort, and if that wasn't possible it would rampage among all the wildlife on the map until everything was dead. The site I chose to build my fortress in had a Titan in it. I got wiped... so I reclaimed with seven goblin soldiers and a thousand trolls. :)
