Recent Downtime

Good news, I've paid my bill to the hosting company for the extra bandwidth - they're only charging for this month, $15 extra. I've asked for an extra 40GB/month (for 6$ more) so I'll have a total bandwidth of 65GB/month. If you guys burn through that, I will be pissed.

(Not really)

So I'll be paying about $15/month for the site, it's not too bad after all. I won't ask for donations but I may eventually put Google ads or something - all the extra money I would make will go to Tarn Adams of course.

Google ads are fine – they're just plain text (I think) and can be easily blocked for those who just really hate advertising.
Project Wonderful? --Savok 15:07, 6 June 2008 (EDT)
does this explain why it doesn't really look like a wiki at the moment? Since google ads have been added this wiki looks screwed up, not like a wiki at all, navbars aren't there etc it is all "single column". If it matters I'm using IE6.0.29 (blah blah) on windows XP SP2.GarrieIrons 23:29, 6 June 2008 (EDT)
It sounds like you're using a different theme. Go to Special:Preferences and fix it.
If that isn't the problem, use Firefox. It works fine. --Savok 09:01, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
Everything looks correct under Firefox and IE 7. Make sure you are using the Monobook skin. Or try with a different browser, you're the only one reporting an issue. --Senso 12:44, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for that I will try fiddling at my end. It doesn't help me that I haven't been around for a long time so I pegged the weirdness at the outage. I'll try skins first. Wikipedia is looking fine and until now this site always looked the same.GarrieIrons 22:47, 7 June 2008 (EDT)
Clearing cache & cookies fixed everything that was wrong. Back to the default skin and everything looks like it should. For some reason I was getting "Page displayed but with errors" before I cleared the cache. But this was the only site I was having problems with.GarrieIrons 01:32, 8 June 2008 (EDT)
