Raw pages

Thanks for creating the Masterwork creature pages! Just for future reference, raw pages don't really need {{av}} (that's intended for articles, and it doesn't display correctly in the raws infobox). --Lethosor (talk) 18:59, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

Don't worry about it :) The new pages you've been making use the right format (at least the ones I checked). --Lethosor (talk) 01:18, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
If I reply here, will you see it automatically, or just if this page is on your watchlist? Otherwise, do I just have to post on your talk page? --J. d'Orc (talk) 01:42, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
I realize that this is pointless if you can't. --J. d'Orc (talk) 02:05, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
I did add this page to my watchlist, but I usually check the recent changes anyway.
With the sidebars on creature pages – either order works, but most existing pages have {{av}} after sidebars (since that puts the sidebars even with the rest of the article). --Lethosor (talk) 20:09, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. Do you know if it would be possible/reasonable to change {{Creaturelookup/0}} and {{Creatures}} to fit the Masterwork namespace? Edit never mind, it looks like they do now. :D --J. d'Orc (talk) 20:13, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Sort of. I just put the purple box there to test it, but there are a few different things in Masterwork I should change (like "long guts" for intestines), as well as leather amounts. --Lethosor (talk) 20:16, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Masterwork creature pages

Out of curiosity, how far are you with the creature pages? Are you done, or are there some left?
If there are still uncreated pages, I can make a script to help out with creating them (I should be able to pull one together fairly soon). --Lethosor (talk) 22:32, 19 June 2013 (UTC)

Oh god, yes please. Everything I've done could be done with a script. I didn't myself because 1) it would involve learning how and 2) making hundreds of script-generated pages on a wiki I just joined sounded like a good way to get banned, even if they were all fine. I think I went through all the creature files arranged alphabetically up until creature_monster_masterwork (435 KB). Still plenty left.

If your script is any good at extracting caste information, there are plenty of pages that could benefit from that (metal colossuses, golems, civ pages, etc). Just look for huge raw pages. --J. d'Orc (talk) 11:08, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Masterwork raws are now included in the DFRaw extension (thanks to Quietust). See Masterwork:Cat/raw for an example of a normal creature, and Masterwork:Albatross man/raw for an example of a variation creature. Basically, all you need to know is the filename (and format man/giant/other (?) variations slightly differently). I'm not sure how to work with castes (especially not with golems), but I'll look into it. --Lethosor (talk) 01:37, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Those are some good looking pages. Thanks! --J. d'Orc (talk) 02:14, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
If you want, I can run a script to automatically [re]create all of the Masterwork /raw pages - I've already got one, since it's what I used to create the /raw pages for DF2012 (and the older versions as well) - all I need is a list of tab-separated values for each page to create (example: "penguin man→DF2012:creature_birds.txt→creature→CREATURE→PENGUIN MAN→DF2012:c_variation_default.txt"). --Quietust (talk) 03:40, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
