Moss is a substance which can cover floors and walls, turning them green. It is unknown whether dwarves will clean up moss, or whether traffic will destroy it like grass.
It is believed to only appear in sites which have been undisturbed for extended periods of time (namely, abandoned fortresses) in appropriate climates.
Known objects subject to moss:
- Stone block constructions exposed to sunlight.
Known cases of moss occurred in the following biomes:
- Temperate Conifer Forest (Warm Woodlands)
- Freezing Woodlands
Actual observation of moss seems to be very rare, though this may simply be due to not waiting long enough - in previous versions, it appeared at the same time as items being scattered during reclaim, and the amount of moss to appear depended on the amount of time passed since the last visit.
