Merge suggestion[edit]
I suggest we merge this with list of crops, they contain the same info more or less, just duplicated. --Mizipzor 20:40, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- I disagree, the list of crops has everything you'd want to know about ALL crops in one spot, whereas Category:Crops is an automated page that happens to have some of the info.--Draco18s 20:58, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Good point. I guess one should also seperate a category from an article, the category should hold no info and just automatically sort pages, the article should contain info. --Mizipzor 21:19, 4 November 2007 (EST)
- Right, that's how we're doing it for Category:Buildings, Category:Constructions, and the like. The category page just has one or two sentences, and a link to the article page. --Turgid Bolk 22:09, 4 November 2007 (EST)
One last point is, this should only be a parent category. There should not really be any articles linking straight to this one except for the above mentioned list of crops - all the articles should be members of lowest-level categories such as Category:Summer crops etc.GarrieIrons 03:39, 11 February 2008 (EST)
- Done. I've also cleaned up the subcategories a bit (for example, "indoor crops" are now "subterranean crops", which is more accurate since surface crops can be grown "inside"). --LaVacaMorada 02:19, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
