Stuff from 40d that needs to be confirmed in 2010[edit]

  • Can artifact beds be made from any material?
    • My glassmaker have created glass bed, so it seems to be true WFrag 17:34, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
    • Confirmed, I just had a mason make a stone bed.
  • How does an injured dwarf decide on its bed?
  • Are there any adverse effects to deconstructing a bed while a dwarf is sleeping in it?

Also, while we're at it, it seems like a lot of the info on this page would be better suited to the bedroom page, like the stuff about how to assign a bedroom to a dwarf. --Mikaka 02:46, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

  • Dwarves appear not to consider dormitories or barracks proper rooms any more. (Mine keep complaining that they haven't slept in a proper room, even if I have a barracks.)
  • An injured dwarf seems to pick (or be taken to) the nearest bed that is either in a hospital zone or in an area that's not a bedroom. -- Volouscheur 18:03, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
    • I can confirm that an injured dwarf does prefer to sleep in a bed that's located in a hospital zone rather than his/her own assigned bed. Kataklistika 05:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

  • My miner decided to sleep in someone's else room, despite having his own one. Strange... * 91.192.173.242
  • Aye thats happened many times with me, too.*

Is the bed icon right? I've never seen that one before.

Definitely the right icon - an uppercase theta. It just looks different because your web browser uses a different font than the game. --Quietust 17:56, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

"Dwarves can only access their beds from the bed's left and right sides." - Is this still true? Some examples on this page show beds with their left and right sides blocked by walls. -- 24.78.192.86 21:14, 10 February 2011 (UTC)

First I've ever heard of it... --Quietust 21:21, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
Dwarves all over my fortress are sleeping on beds with no side access. --PwndJa 23:18, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Dwarves can walk through beds, so you can put a bed at the end of a long 1-tile wide tunnel and they'll still sleep in it.
