Olivine is a low value stone that appears in large clusters, and is largely unremarkable except for two noteworthy points. One, it only appears in gabbro layers, and gabbro has its own attractions. Two, olivine is one of the few stones that can contain native platinum, one of the two most valuable ores (aside from adamantine).

Other than that, it's green, which can be handy for color coding levers or other aesthetic uses.
