To store it in a hospital, create a stockpile with furniture/siege ammo enabled, then select "boxes and bags" under type. Also select the material your bags are made from like cloth and/or leather (or just permit all materials). Don't forget to permit all qualities too. If you made a similar stockpile near your kiln to supply it with empty bags you'll likely discover that it contains bags filled with plaster too. The "Sand Bag" option (toggled with {{K|u}}) does not affect plaster bags.

This article is about an older version of DF.

Gypsum plaster powder is produced at a kiln or magma kiln from gypsum, alabaster, selenite, or satinspar (but not anhydrite) and an empty bag. The production of gypsum plaster powder requires the Furnace operating skill. It is used in the production of plaster casts, an item used by doctors to immobilize the broken bones of injured dwarves. If you don't get the option to produce it at the kiln even though you have all requirements, use the command "make plaster powder" in the manager menu.

Gypsum plaster is listed under "stones" but you don't need to have this selected (as it normally only appears in-game inside of bags).

Bags of plaster powder are automatically stored in containers located in hospital zones, provided there is room.
