Rope reeds are the only surface crop usable for the production of cloth. They also make a passable drink when brewed to make river spirits. You collect them by gathering plants, although they can also be farmed above the ground.
To produce rope reed cloth, you must first use the process plants job at a farmer's workshop to spin the plant fibers into thread, which will also produce rope reed seeds for replanting. Once you have spun the thread, it can then be woven into cloth at a loom by anyone with the weaving profession.
