Armor type question[edit]
Does the type of armor matter affect how fast the skill advances? --FJH 01:34, 2 April 2009 (EST)
- In my experience, if the dwarfs have poor armor or weapons it takes them a long time to level up. My question is what happens as Legendary +5? Do you get any more bonuses by being ultra legendary? Also, besides weight, why would you want a buckler instead of a shield?--Kwieland 01:16, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- My leather clad fortress guards level up slightly faster than my plate clad military, probably because the plate slows down the new recruits at first. Shields have a higher block rate than bucklers and absorb all of certain types of damage, whereas bucklers only absorb some of certain types of damage. The Armor page covers this. --Elvang 03:40, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- My question is really why would a buckler ever be preferred? If it takes one hand to use a buckler or a shield, and it doesn't change anything else combat wise, why use a buckler? Or perhaps this is a "future" thing, meaning if you are using a buckler, perhaps your agility is slightly better than with a shield...?--Kwieland 13:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

- I've always assumed the buckler would weigh less and cost less dwarf bucks, perhaps there is a noticeable difference in Adventurer mode? Also, regarding Legendary +N, my impression from the adventurer's forum is that every level makes some difference. --Elvang 14:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
