Ranger is a category profession for dwarves that work with live animals, both creatures and vermin.
An adult dwarf whose best skill is in this category and who has at least one other skill in this category whose level is more than half the level of the highest skill will be known as a "Ranger", otherwise they will be known by the highest skill alone.
For example, a dwarf who is a Talented (6) Trapper and a Competent (3) Ambusher will be known as a Trapper but will become a "Ranger" once Ambusher reaches Skilled (4).
