Snakemen (half man, half snake) are amphibious, predatory creatures common in and around underground rivers and pools. They are somewhat weak creatures, but can always be a serious threat to civilians or even a lone warrior due to their poisonous bite.
Even though snakeman venom is available as an import, there is no way to extract it from snakemen and it has no current use.
