The broker noble arrives once you have exported at least 500☼ worth of goods to a caravan.
Once you have a broker, the status screen will begin to display your Imported Wealth and Exported Wealth statistics. You will also be able to see item values when trading, allowing you to strike much more favorable deals with foreign merchants.
