Swimmers are, amazingly enough, able to swim. Sometimes.
It is gained by:
- Swimming.
- Drowning.
(You'll be in either of those states if you are underwater, so don't worry. Or do worry.)
Notable ways that it is not gained include:
- Crossing a brook.

Q. If I have an open space above the water, can the dwarf "swim to the surface for air"?
A. Not at this time.

Q. Does the amount of weight a dwarf is carrying affect his swimming? i.e. will a dwarf in iron plate mail drown faster than one in just clothes?
A. No, they drown at the same time.
