This article is about an older version of DF.

The trapping labor enables a dwarf to construct animal traps out of wood or metal (instead of using Carpentry or Metalsmithing), build them in desired locations, bait them, and finally deconstruct them once they catch something. Trapping also allows a dwarf to pick up an animal trap and actively seek out vermin to capture (using an order from a kennel or butcher's shop. Finally, it permits extracting substances from certain types of vermin (currently only cave spiders and fire snakes) at a butcher's shop.

This single labor encompasses two different skills - dealing with animal traps and making extracts.
