Mini Textile Industry Stockpile Settings

This will give you some help optimising the stockpiles for your Textile Industry. It is *not* all inclusive, but just covers plant fibers and wool. Making the dye and using metal threads are outside the scope of this section.
You should have:

  • A stockpile around your Template:L
  • A stockpile around your Template:L
  • A stockpile around your Template:L
  • A stockpile around your Template:L
  • An output stockpile for finished backpack/clothing/quiver/rope/bag.

For the Farmer's Workshop stockpile, customise the stockpile as follows:

  • enable Food and Refuse - select each one and hit e for enable.
  • disable other top-level categories
  • forbid all subtypes of Food except Plants - You can also select Food, hit b for Block All, then move to Food->Plants and press p for Permit.
  • forbid all subtypes of Plants except Template:L and Template:L
  • Forbid all subtypes of refuse except Refuse->Hair/Wool.
  • Now hit Esc to exit the custom settings.

For the Dyer's shop stockpile, use the same commands but:

  • enable Cloth and Food - select each one and hit e for enable.
  • Disable other top-level categories if they aren't already disabled.
  • forbid all metal subtypes of Cloth.
  • forbid all subtypes of Food except Milled Plant - You can also select Food, hit b for Block All, then move to Food->Milled Plant and press p for Permit.
  • forbid all subtypes of Milled Plant except Dimple Dye, Emerald Dye, Redroot Dye, and Silver Dye.
  • Disable Prepared food - go to Food and press u.

For the Loom stockpile, use the same commands but:

  • enable Cloth - hit e for enable.
  • Disable other top-level categories if they aren't already disabled.
  • forbid all subtypes of Cloth except these Thread categories: Silk, Plant, and Yarn.

For the Clothier's Shop stockpile, use the same commands but:

  • enable Cloth - hit e for enable.
  • Disable other top-level categories if they aren't already disabled.
  • forbid all subtypes of Cloth except these Cloth categories: Silk, Plant, and Yarn.

For the output stockpile (if desired),

  • enable Finished Goods and Furniture/Siege Ammo - hit e for enable.
  • forbid the following subtypes of Finished Goods: Stone/Clay and Metal
  • forbid all subtypes of Finished Goods->Type except chains(for rope), footwear, headwear, handwear, legwear, backpacks, and quivers.
  • forbid all subtypes of Finished Goods->Other Materials except Plant Cloth, Silk, and Yarn.
  • forbid the following subtypes of Furniture/Siege Ammo: Stone/Clay and Metal
  • forbid all subtypes of Furniture/Siege Ammo->Type except boxes and bags.
  • forbid all subtypes of Furniture/Siege Ammo->Other Materials except Plant Cloth, Silk, and Yarn.
  • Disable Sand Bag - go to Furniture/Siege Ammo and press u.

For your custom general use stockpile (if one exists) use q to change the settings to disable Cloth and also forbid (under Food->Milled Plant) all dyes. Also disable Refuse->Hair/Wool. Since Template:L and Template:L can also be used to brew Template:L, it is up to you whether or not to disable these plants from the general stockpile. This will cause these things to get moved to your new stockpiles. --Triggs 23:22, 15 July 2011 (UTC)
