This article is about an older version of DF.

The bowyer Template:L is used to make Template:Len and Template:L Template:Ls at a Template:L. A dwarf whose highest skill is crossbow-making has the Template:L of bowyer. A higher level of skill produces Template:L crossbows.

Although crossbows can also be created from metal by a Template:L in a Template:L, the damage a crossbow deals when fired is determined by the weapon's quality and not their material. The material only affects damage when dwarfs swing their crossbows as impromptu hammers during melee combat.

This skill is not used to make Template:Ls, which requires either Template:L for wooden bolts, Template:L for bone bolts, or Template:Ling for metal bolts. It is also not used to make Template:L crossbows at a Template:L, which again requires Template:L.
