The king consort is a male noble that arrives with a queen (female gendered monarch). The king consort has no room requirements and does not show up on the nobles screen. He is always the wife of the current queen.

If a queen marries another dwarf, that dwarf will become king consort provided he does not have a more important noble status.

The female equivalent of king consort is queen consort, who arrives with a king.
