Native gold, mined as "gold nuggets", can be smelted at a smelter by a dwarf with the furnace operating labor activated to produce gold bars.
Each embark region contains 6 veins of gold, all located beyond the chasm.
Once the Dungeon master noble arrives, it may also be combined with galena to form electrum.
