The Dwarf Fortress Wiki
Recent downtime Bay 12 Games had a disagreement with its hosting company (read: they pulled the plug with effectively no warning). As a result, it was down for several days. Bay 12 Games has transferred to a new host and appears to be fully working again. The website is dead, long live the website! Any stale DNS caches should have cleared up by now. If you modified your your "hosts" file (/etc/hosts or c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts), remove the changes, or you may be sent to the wrong site later on. |
The latest Dwarf Fortress version is v50.12, released March 6, 2024. Please ensure that all information added is accurate for the latest version. The archive of the old wiki is still available. |

Dwarf Fortress is a Mac and Windows game (though it can be played on other systems using Wine), developed by Bay 12 Games featuring two modes of play, a distinct, randomly-generated world (complete with terrain, wildlife and legends), gruesome combat mechanics and vicious schools of carp.
