Suggestion (or permission) to standardise raw template naming to reflect the directory structure, or add that as a separate category to raw pages.

  • For instance, inorganic and material template raws, both fall under the "Materials" directory name in the vanilla directory structure.
  • Another example is that files under the vanilla_text directory are categorised as "text set raw pages" which doesn't seem to be a term used by the game at all.

I am partially mentioning this because I am making a Raws navigation template, akin to the files one, and after making some new categories so this made sense, e.g. Category:Languages raws, I realise that either that template is going to have some very convoluted links, or I will be editing the categories section far more than I am happy with, without checking with other editors first. --Alpacalypse (talk) 21:52, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

I had a proper look at the template, and I see that the issue I am having is that it is (quite sensibly) asking for the OBJECT name used in the raws, which often, but doesn't always have the same name as the directory that the raw files are in. I might do some sandbox testing, and see if there is something I can do to include the option of adding the directory name as well, without breaking anything already working as intended. Though probably easier and simpler to continue along the subcategory route I already started down. Alpacalypse (talk) 22:05, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
