Trivia[edit]
- Before the release of the Dino Update, some procedurally-generated creatures took the forms of extinct creatures before they were officially added to the game, which could be seen through their descriptions. In graphics mode, their appearance will be limited to the sprites dedicated to generated creatures. One example can be seen in this screenshot.
- All languages in Dwarf Fortress lack the words for any of the real-world extinct creatures, though some can be inferred from existing words and scientific names. For example, Dwarven "Dinosaur" would be "Angzak-Bungek", lit. "Terror-Lizard". Tyrannosaurus - Etar-Bungek, "King-Lizard" etc.
See Also[edit]
- Dimetrodon, which is not a reptile but still erroneously called a dinosaur
- Birds, which some human scientists suggest are dinosaurs
