This article is about an older version of DF. |
A lake is a Template:L; actual a large area coverd with Template:L. Lakes can be filled with freshwater, saltwater or brackish water. Lakes have slopes leading into the water, making them ideal for learning how to swim in adventure mode.
The setting you choose during Template:L have a large impact on whether on how many lakes will be formed. For example, a Large Island world will typically have many fewer lakes than a Large Region world.
There are six types of lakes, divided in climate and the kind of water. They are listed in the following table:
Brackish water | Freshwater | Saltwater | |
Temperate | Temperate brackish lake | Temperate freshwater lake | Temperate saltwater lake |
Tropical | Tropical brackish lake | Tropical freshwater lake | Tropical saltwater lake |
