A Hydra is a Template:L with seven necks, seven heads, seven mouths, and fourteen eyes. However, a Hydra will usually only drop one skull, unless one chops off several heads, in which case the heads will individually rot to one skull a piece.
Unlike the hydra in Greek mythology one only needs to lop off a single head to kill it in Dwarf fortress.
