Ivory is a resource used to create or decorate crafts at the craftsdwarf's workshop. The exact material category when crafting is "ivory/tooth", signifying that some teeth (notably those of large carnivores) can also be used for the job.

Ivory and teeth are obtained from butchering certain animals at the butcher's shop. Loose teeth may also be produced by bouts of teeth-tearing combat by animals and invaders that drop no teeth or ivory when butchered. Such knocked-out teeth are not useable for crafting.

Goblins will often wear jewelry made of troll ivory.
