Red grossular is a semi-precious gem that can be found in small clusters in marble.
In real life
Grossular is a calcium-aluminium mineral of the garnet gem group, with the formula Ca3Al2(SiO4)3, though the calcium may in part be replaced by ferrous iron and the aluminium by ferric iron. [1]
