:I personally found it rather confusing that when coal, ash, potash, pearlash, and soap refer to the fact that they come in bars, they redirected to metal, which (rightly) makes absolutely no mention of other materials that come in bars. In other words, a stub article is better than no article at all. --Quietust 17:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

:::I'd like to include something on how many bars it takes to make various products (eg a bucket vs a cabinet) ... but as I'm new and don't know that information, could someone else? They don't all take 3 bars, right?Nemokara 08:58, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

Own article vs redirect

this really deserves its own page

This (now stub) article used to redirect to metal. Isn't bar:metal like quiver:bolt, something that goes hand in hand. What does a separate article give that the discussion on metal did not, and more? A discussion of one is a discussion of them both - same article, neh? For charcoal/coke, a quick line of clarification is sufficient. Is there enough here for its own article? --Albedo 17:50, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

I personally found it rather confusing that when coal, ash, potash, pearlash, and soap refer to the fact that they come in bars, they redirected to metal, which (rightly) makes absolutely no mention of other materials that come in bars. In other words, a stub article is better than no article at all. --Quietust 17:55, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
