Happiness Class: How items relate to behavior by dwarves. Not guaranteed accurate. Subnotes:

1: This and only this can be used to increase the effect of its parent function, which is acceptable by itself.

2: Only strictly needed for alcohol and syrup. Food items can be stored anywhere, but not only will not stack anywhere else but are subject to rotting or wear above and beyond vermin damage if not stored in barrels and possibly underground.

3: The non-owned items named can be stored anywhere, but unless in a bin or their parent workshop, will not stack.

4: Owned clothes storage not strictly necessary, but not possible in any other container.
