The Expedition Leader is a Noble automatically picked when you embark. It is the job of this official to speak with, and console or simply hear the complaints of unhappy dwarves, and to entertain foreign diplomats. He or she is automatically elected to be the Mayor once the population reaches 50, removing the Expedition Leader position.

  • Expedition Leaders, along with Mayors, are capable of appointing other Nobles. If you find yourself unable to appoint new Nobles, you will have to wait for a new Mayor to become appointed.
