The Furnace Operator skill is used to make Template:L Template:Ls from Template:Ls at Template:L, to Template:L metal objects at a smelter, and to make Template:L at a Template:L. As bars do not have quality levels, the sole benefit to having a skilled Furnace Operator is the increased rate at which jobs are completed.

Unlike in later versions, Furnace Operator is a Template:L, so it may be wise to further train any immigrant metalsmiths in their other smithing professions.
