This article is about an older version of DF.

Horses are Template:Ls. They are used by Template:Ls to pull Template:Ls. They can be Template:Led for Template:L and are a sensible choice for Template:L. Horses are sometimes brought along by Template:L, as Template:Ls. Template:L cannot ride horses, but Template:Ls and elves can. Horses can be bought before embarking, but are quite expensive.

Horses also occur as wild animals in herds. They are harmless and peaceful, shying away from dwarves, but an inexperienced hunter who engages them in melee will soon find out that they are indeed much bigger than dwarves.

For reasons unknown, horses lack a [MAXAGE] tag, so they will never die of old age.
