This article is about an older version of DF. |
Forests are Template:L which are characterised by extremely dense Template:L growth and large numbers of Template:L.
There are many types of forest, but the main difference between them is the wildlife that inhabits the area. Template:L build their homes, known as forest retreats, in any type of forest.
Particularly dense forests may have so many trees that, in order for Template:L to arrive, you will need to cut a path to the edge of the map. Building a Template:L along this path will prevent trees regrowing and blocking the way.
