This article is about an older version of DF. |
Fortifications are a special type of Template:L. They allow the passage of Template:L and liquids but not Template:Ls, making them an important part in a fortress's Template:L. Creatures with a [FLIER] tag can of course fly over and avoid these walls.
Building Fortifications
Fortifications can be built one of two ways. First they can be carved out of existing stone wall, either one constructed by Template:L or one Template:L (Carving fortifications from natural stone does not appear to work anymore, at least not in 31.05; please confirm [Verify]). This is done by pressing designation and then Carve Fortifications. The second way is through the Template:L Template:L: First press b, then C followed by Fortifications. As with most Template:Ls, this will require one unit of Template:L, Template:L, Template:L, or Template:L. Note that constructed fortifications do not have walkable Template:Ls above them, while carved fortifications do.
