A display case is a piece of furniture that can be used to display other items. Display cases are created from a log and a window at a carpenter's workshop. Display cases are listed as Display Furniture in the built menu, with hotkey F. Once built, a display case can be examined with q and a display item can be selected with d. The display item selection menu displays all items that can be displayed in the display case. Highlighting one of the items automatically shows its description and location at the bottom of the screen. Putting an item into the display case is done by item haulers.
The window used to create the display case does not affect it in any way; a ☼display case☼ made with a ☼crystal glass window☼ is worth as much as a ☼display case☼ made with a -green glass window-, and the window used is not mentioned in any context.
Display cases can be found in most generated sites in adventurer mode, sometimes alongside pedestals.
